OH THAT'S JUST A LINEN CLOSET...

I can't believe it's been almost a year since we bought our "House of Dreams" here in central New Jersey.

♪ We've got farms to the left of us, the city to the right....here we are stuck in the middle of NJ! ♪ (sing it to this tune please!

For the first few months in our new home, each tour we gave to our friends was filled with excitement and giggles. I remember freaking out over the fact that we had a closet just for linens! You mean, my towels have their OWN CLOSET!?? When we were in Brooklyn we were using a brown screw-together pantry cabinet from Walmart to store our towels, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, the scale, and basically everything else quasi-related to the bathroom. It was a hot mess! The joy of having an entire closet to organize and store our bathroom goodies was mind-blowing!

"GUYS! This is the best part of the house...this whole closet is just for TOWELS!" I'd exclaim with as much gusto as a child seeing a fully stocked Christmas morning. There aren't enough words to describe just how much I loved this closet. Seriously. So imagine my complete shock during our most recent tour when I heard myself mutter "oh that's just a linen closet" as I skipped over my once favorite part of the house. In less than a year I had grown to take for granted what was once my most cherished blessing. It was a punch to the gut.

I know we've heard it all before, but I really challenge you (and ME!) this Thanksgiving to be completely-utterly-child-like in our excitement over our blessings! I'm sure we all have something that we used to LOOOOVE and appreciate with all our hearts that today is "just a linen closet." Let's all get crazy giddy about those things again! As soon as I hit publish on this I'm going to go happy dance in front of my towels! ;) I wish you the most wonderful and joyful time with your family and friends this Thanksgiving!!!
