WOODLANDS MOUNTAIN ELOPEMENT INSPIRATION

Oh man, I have been waiting to share this since the moment I took the first photo! This styled woodlands wedding vision all began with my late-grandmother's red china. She left the entire collection to me while I was still in high school, so naturally it sat in my parent's storage all these years.

14-year old me thought it was "old lady china," and I wasn't exactly excited to inherit the set!

After over a decade apart, it was like seeing it for the first time with completely new eyes! I LOVE this old lady china!!! Immediately my brain began to fill with visions of a styled wedding.

I envisioned deep red florals surrounded by lush greens and a woodlands setting with a touch of the past. I imagined being on a mountain summit at sunset with the most lovely bride and groom. And I could see pomegranates, berries, and figs bringing it all to life!

When Lauren, my associate and gorgeous model, showed me her mother-in-law's vintage CAPED wedding gown, I knew we had to act on this vision! I shared the idea with Michelle of Wild Floral Designs, and she immediately elevated everything and made it ten times better than I ever could have imaged. With the help of some incredible wedding artists, this tiny idea was transformed into the most wonderful wedding inspiration for the adventurous couple!

Yes that is a real sun flare - no photoshop!

I'm obsessed with this little bitty Wegmans cake - perfect for two!

All I kept thinking was "is this real life?!" What an amazing sunset! This was shortly before the summit...at this point my legs were turning to jelly and I was starting to wonder if we'd actually make it to the top before the sun fell behind the mountain!

Spoiler alert: WE MADE IT! We had about a minute to enjoy the sunset before it dipped behind the mountain. WORTH IT!

I just love these two! I've known Dan and Lauren since high school, and they are just as rad as they come! :)
